I’m a bookworm, a mathematician, not the kind of girl a hot lobster fisherman would notice.

Until he did.

I’m not in small town Nova Scotia to hook up. I’m here to settle my grandmother’s estate and sell the B&B, which I soon discover has been overrun with seasonal fishermen and operated on the honor system. The hard-core fishing folks become an instant family––the one I never had. Then there’s the blind pet cow, who has a crush on my hot fisherman, Nate. Okay, technically he’s not mine. I have no desire to get reeled in.

Until I do.

Soon, the little town grows on me, and the fisherman? It’s not long until I take the bait and we’re playing house at the B&B. Things are looking up.

Until they aren’t.

Rumors about a new plant and jobs being in jeopardy start swirling around town like a nor’easter, and all the signs point to my guy being behind the scandal. Should I give him enough line to play it out and learn his true intentions, or cut and run before I’m hooked?

Hooked by you was the first book I ever read from this author and it was an okay read. The story starts with the Kira, a mathematician who bumps into a hot fisherman on her way to sell her late grandmother’s bed and breakfast. The attraction between the two is instantaneous and she wastes no time before inviting him for dinner. Nate Montgomery-Lancaster is a fisherman and the owner of a multi-million dollar company. He is looking for a place to build facilities for his fishing business and Lunenburg is a great place. Nate soon discovers that the B and B he is temporarily staying at is the same B and B the attractive woman he ran into owns the property. They go out to dinner after it’s evident that Kira is not able to cook the dinner she previously promised. It was refreshing to have woman main character who was not automatically great at cooking. I also loved Izzy’s personality, Izzy was a fisherman staying at the B and B with Nate and other fishermen. Ms. Fox knows how to write a sex scene, Nate and Kira’s flirtation brought them to an appropriation resolution. They vowed to enjoy each other with no expectation of a future together. Hooked by you was a sweet funny romantic comedy. The parts I did not like about this book was I felt like Kira felt too comfortable with Nate at first. Spoiler: When Kira burned her dinner and Nate gallantly rescued the oven from the burnt chicken she felt too comfortable chatting with a man she just met in her underwear in the kitchen. The initial meeting of the two love birds also felt forced. I appreciated that they didn’t just fall into bed and I got a glimpse of the personalities of the supporting characters. I think it was original to bring in Bridgette the cow, I love animals in romance. Hooked by you was an okay read, I didn’t connect with the characters. The story is well written and I believe if you’re looking for a quirky romance set in a beautiful small town then this book is for you.
